Ten Self-Affirming Beliefs


Below are ten self-affirming beliefs you can incorporate into your life to help you bolster your self-acceptance and self-trust.

Keep this Insight close at hand, in our briefcase, purse, on your desk, or at home where you can easily see it. These beliefs were inspired by observations by Terry Orlick in his book In Pursuit of Excellence.

1. I control my thoughts, emotions, and actions and I direct them to improve the quality of my health, my relationships, my work and my life.
2. I am a good, valuable, and worthy person.
3. I am fully capable of achieving the goals that I set for myself today.
4. I trust my abilities and my judgement in taking risks that will test my limits and I am willing to live with the consequences and rewards of my decisions.
5. I am responsbile for the values by which I live.
6. I learn from problems and set backs and through them I can find opportunities for improvement and growth.
7. My spirit, mind and body are a powerful team, which I set free to excel.
8. I am my own best friend and coach. When I talk to myself, I am encouraging, supportive and respectful.
9. Everyday I am becomeing more knowledgeable, more aware, more curious, more caring, more adaptable, more successful, and more in control.
10. Regardless of what happens in my life, I have decided to be happy.
